Pine oil is obtained by the steam distillation of pine needles, twigs and cones from a variety of particularly pine tree. Pine oil have several uses in aromatherapy, it is also used as a cleaning product. It is a very high quality lubricant for expensive mechanical instruments. It is naturally anti bacterial and deodorizing. It is used in disinfectant, massage oil and an antiseptic. Pine oil is different from other products from pine such as turpentine, the low-boiling fraction from the distillation of pine sap, and rosin, the thick tar remaining after turpentine is distilled. |

Terpineol is a naturally monoterpene alcohol obtained from pine tree. It contains three isomers, alpha, beta, and gamma-terpineol, the last two differing only by the location of the double bond. Terpineol is usually a mixture of these isomers with alpha-terpineol as the major constituent.

Turpentine oil is derived from turpentine. Turpentine is viscous fluid consisting of two main components, turpentine oil and rosin (colophony). Turpentine is exuded from coniferous trees lime pine tree. The crude turpentine is steam distilled into commercial turpentine, turpentine oil . The pure turpentine oil is a transparent oily liquid with a penetrating odor and a characteristic taste. Turpentine oil is a mixture of terpenes, particularly large proportion of pinene. Turpentine oil is used mainly used as a solvent in paints, vanishes and waxes, and inks. Other uses include waterproofing, manufacturing synthetic resins and rubbers, cleaner or remover of paints and oils, disinfectants and moth repellents, medical soaps, internal medicines, etc. |
